Pastor Tom was ordained in 1999, and has served in congregations in Washington state, and Wisconsin before becoming the pastor at Trinity Lutheran. Retiring as Trinity's pastor at the end of 2024, he transitioned to our Media Missionary, continuing Trinity Lutheran's presence in Christian Media.

Pastors Tom and Paula publish a daily devotional blog called " Light of Christ Journey" and develop a weekly radio program called "The Light of Christ " based on their current teaching series. Currently, "The Light of Christ" is broadcast weekly on eleven radio stations nationwide, reaching thousands of people per week. The week the radio program airs, it is posted as a podcast.

He received his seminary education from Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He is passionate about reaching people inside and outside the church with the Good News of Jesus. Over the years, this has taken him to many different places and communities. Before becoming a pastor in 1999, he worked in manufacturing in the automotive industry, where he holds a BS and MS in Industrial Technology.

His wife Paula is also an ordained pastor and has been instrumental in developing the media technology to reach people with the Gospel. In addition, she has been involved in a variety of ministries to help people along their spiritual journey.

Pastor Tom and Paula have three grown children: Kristy and Becky are nurses, and John works in Aerospace as an Engineer.

He grew up on a dairy farm in southwest Wisconsin near Galena, Illinois, and Paula grew up on a dairy farm near Latimer, Iowa. They enjoy rural America and the amazing people that live in the heartland.
